Technical Preparation Guide:
Check Your Computer's Requirements

The Interspecies Assemblies are held online. Participating as a Diplomat requires a little extra computing power, and this guide will help you determine whether your computer can run the required software.

If you're joining as a Diplomat, you must use a desktop or laptop computer. Mobile devices and tablets aren't supported.

First, what kind of desktop or laptop do you have?

Windows Instructions

1. Log into Your Computer

Turn on and log into your Windows desktop or laptop computer.

2. Navigate to Windows Settings

To do this:

  • Click Start or press the Windows key on your keyboard.
  • Type "Settings".
  • Click "Open".

3. Display Your Computer's Information

In Windows Settings:

  • Click the "Find a Setting" text box.
  • Type "About".
  • Click "About your PC".

4. Compare Your Computer Against the Assembly Requirements:

Check your Device specifications against the following requirements:

Processor: Intel Core i3 2.5Ghz or AMD FX 4300 or higher

Installed RAM: 8GB or more

System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Windows Edition: Windows 10

If you bought your computer in the last 4 years, it should meet the minimum requirements.

Apple macOS Instructions

1. Log into Your Computer

Turn on and log into your Mac laptop or desktop computer.

2. Open "About this Mac"

To do this:

  • Point your cursor at the Apple logo on the top left of your screen.
  • Click the Apple logo.
  • Click "About this Mac".

3. Compare Your Computer Against the Assembly Requirements:

Check your Device specifications against the following requirements:

Version: 10.13 or Higher

Processor: Intel Core i3 2.5Ghz or Apple M1

Memory: 8GB or more

Graphics: Intel Iris or Radeon Pro

If your Mac is dated 2016 or later, it should meet the minimum requirements.
