The Treaty of Finsbury Park 2025 is an immersive fiction that looks at what it would be like if other species were to rise up and demand equal rights with humans. What that means is you, as a human, can come and take part in the fiction only by playing for and as another species (so, like, NOT as a human ok?!).
The project started in 2020 and runs until 2025, when the Treaty itself will have been created and signed by all the species communities of Finsbury Park.
Biodiversity is crucial in reducing the harmful effects of climate change and city parks have a huge part to play.
It's time to spark new ways of being, feeling and acting together!
How to Join The Treaty Signing Events
Join us for fun with family and friends in Finsbury Park to connect with park life in fantastical new ways.
When: 11am - 4pm, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September 2024.
Take part in the Multi-species Meditations: 11am, 2pm and 3pm Saturday and Sunday and use your imagination to transform into another species with a totally different sense of what is important.
Who will you be: a dog, a stag beetle, a bee, a Canada goose, the grass, a squirrel or a London plane tree?

Treaty Signing events are open to ALL human people over the age of 7*
From October 2024 you can visit the park with your friends and family to access the magical Finsbury Park Sentience Dial app and tune into all flora and fauna. Scan the park and meet up to 7 local park species representatives before making your pledge for bountiful biodiversity!
Explore the park as another species, with new eyes, ears and totally new priorities.

So as the songs of lament, celebration and protest finish their last chorus it is now time to decide together with our new Mentor Species what actions we can pledge to serve the bountiful biodiversity of the park as part of this interspecies cooperation agreement… This Treaty of Finsbury Park.
